  • to keep all acquired personal data safe and secure and ensure it is only used for its intended purpose, in accordance with GDPR.

WORKING HOURS

Open 09:00 to 15:30 Monday to Thursday. Closed on French Public Bank Holidays. Additional closures may apply, such as annual holiday leave, at our discretion.

COMMUNICATION

Communication and instructions via email only, excepting calls scheduled using Translating France’s automated system.

WORK PRODUCT

The Client is the legal owner and holds intellectual copyright of all work undertaken by Translating France and associates. All images and data supplied by the Client remain under their liability.

Final proofreading and checking of all work supplied is the responsibility of the Client.

Any errors must be reported within two (2) days of receipt of completed work. Errors will be rectified free of charge when possible, amendments or alterations requested by the Client thereafter will be charged at the standard hourly rate.

DELIVERY

Clients on a retainer have access to a priority schedule.

Clients who require a set amount of hours every month, a specific task completed regularly, or any tasks that will need urgent attention should opt for a retainer package.

Retain anything from an hour a month or choose from one of our packages. Please enquire within for a personalised quote. You may also pre-book multiple appointments to guarantee availability.

All work product will be delivered as appropriate and confirmation provided to the Client by email.

CONFIDENTIALITY & PERSONAL DATA

Translating France and associates shall keep any work undertaken confidential and not use it for personal gain or promotion without written consent of the Client.

The business affairs of the Client shall not be discussed or disclosed to any third parties without prior written permission from the Client.

Translating France and associates take confidentiality and data protection seriously. All provided and acquired personal data is treated as confidential and it is only used for its intended purpose, in accordance with GDPR.

Physical data is destroyed immediately after completion of the Client task. Digital data is destroyed every 3, 6 or 12 months, subject to the nature of the Client engagement.

Translating France and associates may keep on record such information (e.g. contact details) as is necessary to fulfil the task, as well as overall legal obligations. Either party may view the other’s records upon request to ensure that they are relevant, correct and up to date.

PAYMENTS & BILLING

Initial free call of 10 minutes is provided, limited to one use per customer. This free consultation is provided by WhatsApp or telephone.

Invoices are payable on receipt.

Late payments are subject to recovery fees as per French legislation, of 40€ and 3.15% interest per invoice outstanding.

Unpaid invoices provoke the immediate suspension of services, which may be reinstated at the discretion of Translating France once balance and fees are paid in full.

All postage, printing and other expenses incurred on the Client’s behalf will be billed for reimbursement.

Payments to be made online by debit or credit card and or by bank transfer.

RETAINER PACKAGES

  • Payable by automated recurring subscription monthly in advance.
  • Invoices for additional billing are issued monthly in arrears and payable on receipt.
  • Billable time includes meetings and calls outside of contracted hours, and includes the writing and or reading of correspondence sent by the Client and their associates and or interlocutors.
  • The Client understands Translating France and associates’ estimated time and cost for completing any task is an informal estimated calculation and that any adjustments to the amount of work, schedule and/or the number of hours and fees is subject to review and renegotiation with the Client as necessary.
  • Translating France reserves the right to renegotiate costs and or deadlines at any time if the anticipated workload discussed in preliminary discovery is significantly exceeded and or if the Client requests additional tasks.
  • In instances of ongoing work being suspended or interrupted through any default of the Client, including but not limited to not providing data or supporting documents, the Client remains liable for all agreed fees and expenses incurred.
  • Retained tasks or time blocks do not carry over to the next period and are fully payable whether utilised by the Client or not.
  • Retainer packages may be terminated at any time by either party, providing no less than one month notice.

PRODUCTS

  • Digital products are available to purchase online, and subject to French Consumer Protection Legislation.
  • Individual tasks and projects are subject to a minimum billable hourly rate and 15-minute billable increments, rounded up to the nearest next 15 minutes.

BOOKINGS

  • All bookings are made using our automated booking system.
  • The length and cost of any booking is made clear at the time of purchase. Please get in touch in case of errors or technological glitches.
  • Confirmation of payment is sent automatically. Please check your spam and promo email folders if you do not find it in your email inbox.
  • Follow-on bookings must be prepaid, including in instances the original tasks take longer than anticipated to complete.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

All parties retain the right to terminate any engagement immediately in case of serious breach of the terms.

Refunds are subject to French Consumer Protection Legislation.

RETAINER CONTRACTS

  • Termination to be provided in writing giving one month’s notice.
  • Retained tasks or weekly and or monthly hours do not carry over to the next period and are fully payable whether utilised by the Client or not.

PRODUCTS

  • Refunds for digital products are subject to French Consumer Protection Legislation.

BOOKINGS

  • All bookings are confirmed and sales final at the time of purchase and or reservation.
  • Appointments can be rescheduled a maximum of 3 times, giving no less than 48 hours notice, for up to 3 calendar months from initial purchase and or reservation, subject to availability within the schedule. 
  • Failed appointments and or reservations that have been rescheduled 3 times will expire.
  • Appointments and or reservations that have not been used within 3 months of initial purchase will expire.
  • We apply a strict no refund policy on services and call bookings and reservations.

LIABILITY

Translating France is not an officer of the French Courts.

Translating France is not a certified accountant.

Translating France is not a certified “assermenté” translator.

FRENCH COURTS & LAWS

Translating France is situated in France and subject to the authority of French Courts.

In case of any dispute, both parties must work with the Mediator in a first instance.
